I've been bugged a bit lately that enetation seems to be so flakey for comments (yeah what can we expect for a free service I guess). So I've been playing around with hosting a commenting system on my site for my friends (since I now have this fancy-lad server with all the bells and whistles Yahoo wouldn't give me without charging an arm and a leg).

At this point, it looks very doable, so if any of you just want me to host your comments so you can ditch enetation, give me a buzz, I'll start playing with it in the next few days hopefully. This would mean that you wouldn't get those retarded "page cannot be displayed" messages or the links to your comments not appearing half the time. Anyways, let me know.

Sloanie- Get on that buddy. Enetation has reached an all time low. It keeps showing less comments than are really there and not posting some at all...

I'll have to figure out how it works for non-blogger users. Are you still manually creating ID numbers for each comments link?

Hallelujah! The least you can do after you MADE me start reading all of your friends blog is get them a decent comment system. Hehe. I almost started a list of other more reliable systems they can use other than enetenation (which I believe I told you about before) but your way would be much better.

And - Joel - are you really having to manually create id numbers for each comments link?! Wow, I'm the laziest blogger who has ever existed.

Yeah Llew he doesn't use any form of blogging system, he does it all by hand and he likes it so... Heeble does the same, actually... but doesn't seem to update much these days (especially with the comp. problems he's been having with his new computer) so maybe he doesn't care... yeah the system I'm looking into should work seamlessly with blogger, I'll have to see how to get it to work with manual ID numbers.

It's not as hard as it sounds when you copy and paste and change 1 number... I think we're all a little lazy... otherwise I would have changed to a new system too. I am holding out for my free memory to run out. With the newer slower pace my life has taken on it could be years...
