Apple virus

| | Comments (2)

Just a quick rant. Some spam-ish probably virus-like stuff has been coming in my work e-mail today. I overheard a certain co-worker (who actually works on a PC here, hah) say that most viruses don't affect Macs. You kinda get that snooty attitude from Mac users sometimes, it's annoying. Granted there are a lot more people that hate Bill Gates than Steve Jobs or even Macs in general, but just wait. One day some genius hacker is going to snap and bring down the entire mac population with a virus that affects only macs, muahahah! Because you know, it's not really that Macs are that virus-proof... they're just not as popular. But with things like the Mac Mini making Macs accessible to everyone, it's only a matter of time before hackers get bored with their stupid PCs and start picking the Mac apart. I probably shouldn't laugh, being an 8-hour a day Mac user myself (even occassionaly day dreaming about buying a G5 for home). (I'd never leave PC's of course. As my brother says, a door that swings both ways--- swings more often!)

Anyways, it's just that ignorance that gets me. The ignorance and the accompanying attitude-- "oh macs are invincible, macs are perfect, macs never have problems or crash, macs don't get viruses". They're great machines (obviously if I still lust after them), but really not what the mindless mac masses believe they are ;) Or else I just have a special touch to be able to make them crash and freeze and have problems :P
