Here's some wide-angle goodness. Shot @ 10mm, ISO 400, 1/125, f/3.5. (That ends up being about 16mm in terms of 35mm / full frame cameras).
Alright, here's another quick one. This almost imitates an HDR photo... only used one exposure, though. My favorite thing about this was that through processing it, I found there was a second rainbow above the first that wasn't really very noticeable in the original (and I certainly don't remember seeing it when I took the picture). Crazy what kind of detail you can pull out of photos...

Just playing with some new stuff in photoshop. A little too much artifacting near the top, but I was too lazy to tinker much with it and hence just gave it some blur. I do like the effect, especially with the tree and the color around it... kinda surreal, between painting and photo.
Apple had a little press event today to intro iTunes 8 and all the latest iPod revisions. I wondered if I would be compelled to buy a new iPod this year... last year I bought 2 (160gb Classic-- my 80gb was FULL-- and a 16gb iPod Touch). This year? The only thing tempting me is purely superficial... COLOR. I love the color of my orange iPod Shuffle. Instantly the brain starts rationalizing reasons why I might possibly need a Nano. Yeah... there might actually be too many colors to choose from. I kinda like the purple, as well as the green, yellow, orange... maybe even the blue, even though blue iPods have been around forever (since the iPod Mini). In any case, $199 for 16 gigs of flash is pretty good.
I thought I'd miss summer more-- I've always loved summer so much. But I'm finding fall a welcome change of temperature, not to mention plenty of good stuff on the way: Zion's this weekend, Oktoberfest, San Diego next month, Halloween and all the activities related to it in October, FOOTBALL... yeah, life is good right now.
