Diets suck

Man, it seems like me and Mel are the only ones who post to this thing. Repent, hoingers!
So yeah, diets suck. A year ago I was on the South Beach diet. I lost 8 pounds in 2 weeks and then some after the first 2 weeks. It works well. It's pure hell. Melissa and Mar are doing phase 1 right now (almost no carbs, just vegies, low fat cheese, lean meat, some nuts, etc.) You'd think I'd be understanding and supportive or something, or maybe even do it with them. Nah. Today I'm on one and just feel like tormenting them. Maybe I'll get some candy and go up to Mar's desk and just eat it there. At lunch I ate a nice big Cafe Rio salad and enjoyed every last bit of that flour tortilla.
So the funny part of this post is another part of lunch today. Seeing as you can't have bread when you're on south beach phase 1, Mar is just eating lunch meat. I'm sitting there with my salad and I look over and SHE'S SPREADING BUTTER RIGHT ON HER LUNCH MEAT! I was thinking to myself "well I guess you gotta spread it on something if you don't have bread..." all the same it seemed completely odd to me.
Turns out it wasn't butter butter, after all. It was Laughing Cow Swiss cheese. The idea of spreading anything on meat like that can be a little strange, but it was even better when I thought it was butter. Oh the fun of dieting! Where's my chocolate...

the nice thing about running is that it requires a healthy amount of carbs. we even drink carb-concentrated gel when we run for an energy boost. running sucks a little at first, too, but then you get hooked. unlike the low carb diet which causes you to crave carbs FOREVER!!! hehehe

Actually, I am a runner. I am absolutely hooked on it. The problem is, I'm also hooked on sugar. This diet is a pure test of will to eradicate sugar from my system, so I can eat better...thus run better. I'm still running on this diet, just not as hard. :)
And Mike, you absolutely suck. It's like you've gone back to the dark side, now must torment those who are trying to be good! Hehehe. But I must say, after Sunday dinner at mom and dad's, where I passed up on home-made rolls and apple pie, instead of feeling depressed, I feel rather empowered. :)

Okay, Mar and Melissa, after watching you guys pass up rolls AND apple pie last night, I have to give you major props for willpower and discipline. I almost felt guilty for eating them!
Almost...

And now you see that evil will always triumph because good is dumb.
Seriously, the fact that you guys couldn't have rolls and pie was awesome-- more for me! Especially the pie... it was SOOOO good.
Josh-- I still need to have a shirt made that says I love carbs (you know, with a heart symbol instead of the word heart).

Dude, why are you being so evil? Seriously. It's like you're in the great and spacious building.

Dang. I had that idea like a year ago... I wonder how long that person has been making bank of MY stolen idea. I can make a better one.... maybe one with a picture of something good on it...hmm...

And is it any wonder they have to come in a 2x. I'm surprised they don't come larger. :)

And people who eat carbs are happy. :P

Okay, I'm going to have to ask you guys to back off of Melissa and Mar... I'm starting to think that you're just annoyed that they have more willpower than the rest of us! It's time for you all to congratulate them on sticking to their goal, and be SILENTLY thankful that you can still eat carbs! :)

Whatever, dude. That cow is laughing, because he's happy. What's cooler than a happy cow?
And you don't have to be silently thankful...it's not like we lost our powers of eating, and you just have to feel sorry and be grateful that wasn't you. :) I feel great right now, so say what you will!

Mel--
You don't get it do you. We're younger brothers. Our purpose in life is to harass our sisters. End of line.

Sorry, I guess I didn't get it.
Harass away, dear brother.

But I do appreciate Mel sticking up for us. That is, after all, what sisters are for. :)
